The year 2019 was a big one for Netflix, as it launched its new streaming service, dubbed ‘The Binge.’
This was followed by the launch of a second ‘Binge’ series, ‘Black Mirror,’ and a third season of the sci-fi thriller ‘The Mist.’
Netflix is now the number one source of content in terms of viewership and revenue in the US, and the company is looking to continue that momentum this year with the launch tonight of a new series called ‘Star Wars: The Binge’ which will be available to stream in 2019.
The Bingle, which is available for free in the U.S. as well as Canada and Europe, will follow the adventures of Star Wars characters Luke Skywalker, Rey, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Chewbacca.
The series is expected to air in late 2019.
Star Wars fans and Star Wars aficionados are excited for this new ‘Bundle’ series because it is the first time we’ll see a fully animated Star Wars film, and it promises to be a very different experience to the prequels.
“We wanted to create a new experience, which we believe is more of a Star Wars adventure and we felt the best way to do that was to do a new film and film it in an entirely new way,” Netflix co-president and CEO Reed Hastings told the Hollywood Reporter.
“It will be about the stories behind these characters,” Hastings said.
“It will explore the legacy of these characters.
And that’s something we’re very excited about.
We feel it will be a really fun new take on this character.”
Star Wars’ Return of the Jedi has been one of the most popular movies of all time and has spawned an enormous fanbase, but the new ‘Star Wives’ series will have its roots in the prequel films.
The film has been the subject of a lot of controversy since its release in 1977, with many fans arguing that the film was overly sympathetic to the Jedi Knights and their fight for justice against the Sith.
Netflix has taken the opposite stance and is looking forward to bringing Star Wars fans closer to the characters.
The ‘Star Binge,’ which will air in 2019, will also include episodes of ‘Black Panther,’ ‘Doctor Strange,’ ‘Ghost Rider,’ ‘Hercules,’ ‘Mad Max,’ ‘Star Trek,’ and ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.’
The show will also feature episodes of the animated series ‘My Little Pony,’ ‘Rick and Morty,’ ‘Muppets Most Wanted,’ and more.
Netflix is looking into creating new series of films for the company and hopes to launch new shows in the coming months.
