The Mom TV Series, the show about a mom, is set to return to Hulu and Netflix for a limited run in 2019.
The second season of the series will premiere on Tuesday, September 26, 2019.
The show was originally slated to air in 2019, but Hulu and the series creator, Michelle Carter, have announced they will stream the season as part of a Hulu and TVLine exclusive deal.
In the second season, Mom will be introduced to the world of the Big Apple, the series’ setting, as the series follows the rise of the titular “Mom.”
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have our Mom TV series return to its home screen and be available for streaming as part to Hulu, TVLine, Netflix, Amazon, and other platforms,” Carter said in a statement.
“This is the perfect example of Hulu’s commitment to bringing content from the worlds best to the largest audiences and most dedicated of consumers.”
The series, which originally aired on Lifetime in 2011, will also debut on VOD and Amazon Prime Video in 2019 and 2020.
As with the first season, the Hulu and Hulu TVLine exclusives will be available to new and existing Hulu subscribers.
Carter, who will return to the series as executive producer, said she was excited to see the first episode premiere and to share her thoughts on the series.
“Mom is an iconic show and we are thrilled that fans will be able to see how she has changed our lives in the span of three seasons,” Carter told ESPN Clic Info.
“I am so grateful to have this opportunity to share the first installment of the show with my fans.”
The series was the subject of a recent series of episodes in which Carter and her husband, actor Michael Keaton, played the roles of the main characters and also introduced some new ones.
In the first series, Carter played a suburban mom with a young son who became a detective.
In this season, Keaton plays the father who has moved into the neighborhood.
While the first two seasons of the “Mom” series were not as popular as the current TV series, it did well enough to make it to the top of Hulu.
After the series premiered in 2011 and garnered positive reviews from critics, the franchise eventually went on to become a cult hit that has inspired several films and a TV series.
Like the current series, the new season will be directed by Michelle Carter and stars Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt, Sam Rockwell, and Kevin Spacey.
